Branding all stages of a business' evolution.

Our work has always been a blend of supporting new brands and re-engaging the audiences of time-tested businesses. In fact, having a client roster that reflects how brands evolve over time has both pushed our creative growth and made us better strategic thinkers. New concepts offer bold ideas and fresh perspectives, while more seasoned teams have learned from their successes and their failures, bringing invaluable wisdom to their projects.

Whether they stand out for their transparency, their sustainability, their customer service or simply their integrity, the following projects have all taken us on an enriching creative journey. Some are still in-progress, just getting their feet wet and their architectural plans finalized, while others are at the absolute top of their game—even after years in the business.

TWO CAPES LOOKOUT
Tierra del Mar, Oregon

Dreamed up by a group of first-time hospitality entrepreneurs who have spent years vacationing near Pacific City, this independent resort project was largely informed by the founders’ intimate relationship with this stunning stretch of Oregon’s coastline. Consisting of just a handful of cabins and geodesic dome sites, their uniquely eco-conscious site plan for the property immediately stood out for its serene, immersive guest experience. In turn, our branding emphasized the property's juxtaposition of Sitka spruce forests, marshland and secluded beaches—literally zooming in on the site’s views with a playful binocular illustration highlighting both capes. At the same time, our core messaging sought to capture the preservationist philosophy guiding the construction of the resort, as well as the wealth of protected parks and natural areas within a stone's throw of the property. Thank you to the talented architecture team at Studio Campo for looping us into this incredible project!

B&B
Denver, Colorado

Over 25 years of business, Basements & Beyond had become one of Denver's most trusted residential design-build firms—with a particular expertise in historic homes and complex structural renovations. When we were approached about rebranding, their primary concern was that their original name didn't reflect the evolution of their services or attract their ideal clients, but they were also anxious to retain their loyal following. In turn, we collaborated with their team on a comprehensive identity refresh, rebranding as “B&B”, refining the brand's overall aesthetic and crafting impactful messaging that clearly differentiates the business in a crowded market. We also supported a full website redesign and email series for their existing customers, featuring updated portfolio projects, personal introductions to the company’s owners and straight-to-the-point language that underscores their bar-setting approach.

THE SOURCE HOTEL + MARKET HALL
Denver, Colorado

Stylish, dynamic, even visionary… we’ve always been a fan of The Source Hotel + Market Hall and the broader impact the brand has had on the culture of Denver’s downtown. The pandemic provided our first chance to collaborate with this innovative hospitality team on a "staycation" themed shoot to drive local business. So when we heard they wanted to extend that photo library and build on the aesthetic we had previously created, we were thrilled to be invited back by the new ownership at Sage Hospitality Group. This time, we had the pleasure of collaborating with stylist Jessie Capstick, who helped bring to life the more elevated style of the hotel's decor and onsite offerings, while still featuring the colorful personality and bold vibe we had captured in our initial shoot.

THE MEADOWS
Buena Vista, Colorado

As celebrated developers, hospitality entrepreneurs and even live music producers, our longtime clients at South Main Development in Buena Vista had already earned a statewide reputation for their multifaceted New Urbanist approach to town planning. Yet even amidst this runaway success, it was incredibly important to founders Jed and Kennley Selby that their next large-scale development project—The Meadows—be enriched and informed by the perspective of the town’s current residents. In preparation for a multi-day design charrette that invited public feedback on the project, we developed core messaging that clearly articulated their vision for the site and the values that will guide their development process. This foundational work helped set the stage for a collaborative, respectful and engaging public discussion.

EDITORIAL: A PLACE OF THEIR OWN
Edible Denver

“While the pandemic helped expose diners to some of the long-standing issues faced by restaurant workers, few patrons truly understand the complexity of building a career—and a life—in the hospitality industry…To succeed requires more than culinary skill, fair investors or a good location. For a restaurant to last past the latest trend cycle, it needs to have a vision and a soulfulness that keeps customers coming back—something that transcends the dishes on a menu.”
